I was there yesterday and the food and service was fantastic. You must have been there on a off day.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely go again.
This is home cookin'. Good crab cakes, hush puppies different than mom's but still good. Loved the black eyed peas, home made macaroni & cheese. Good service, decent prices.
Arrived on Valentines night tired from a day of travel hoping for a glass of wine and quick and light dinner. Immediately perceived things were out of sync so I nixed the chowder appetizer to kept the order simple. Over an hour later my shrimp and crab burger arrived (fresh and delicious) but sadly by then I was too worn out to care.Nice place and staff but badly in need of organization.
Horrible service took 1 hour to get our food arrived cold The fish was frozen and the texture of baby food nothing fresh about it ! I live in Miami and I know fresh fish . Only thing fresh was the bottle of beer don’t waste your time at all way better places around
This place jas a small town mom and pop feel to it. Its a small place and we had a large group 10+ so we were not able to sit at the same table. Good was out fairly quick and was enjoyed.
Really tasty and that feel of family ownership. A good dining experience.
What a delight, fresh seafood, generous portions and great service! One of the items of our choice today was Fried oyster salad...picture says it all!!!
Great atmosphere, excellant food and awesome staff! Never disappointed!
The seafood and side were wonderful, the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly.
This place is quite atrocious. The food lacked any sort of flavor and service was rude, pushy, and forgetful all at the same time. The decor seems dirty. Took ages for our meal to come out. The only plus is it's location.
Great food! I love the Fried Chicken and Mashed Potatoes and gravy! But their wonderful lunch specials is what is great. You can come in and pick out various dishes and your choice of amazing sides made for just the day or just order off of their menu. But specials run low towards the end of lunchtime so you might want to hurry before they are sold out. So good.
Crab dip was phenomenal! The soft shell crab sandwich was really good, although I would have preferred a round bun. Definitely will return.
I've been to this restaurant twice and both times I've had a good experience. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Burger and it was great the tomato was nice and crunchy and the burger was well done. The owner's are nice and greet you at the door..A nice place to try something different.
Great food staff was nice and so were owners. Lots of history here!
I can't recommend this place enough!! Fresh seafood caught steps from the restaurant. Excellent food and very reasonable.I shared the seafood platter for 2 with my ravenous son. It was so generous we couldn't finish it...crab cakes were prizewinners, best shrimp ever! oysters, clams, grouper fillets, hushpupies and 4 sides of your choice!! Plus crab dip appetizer, house made delicious recipe and house made fish sauces... $35 at lunch. All served from prompt, friendly servers that feels like family. Old Florida style. Easy parking and easy to find across from the waterfront.
Chowder was very good. Shrimp was cooked to perfection!! Husband who is not eating well do to health issues ate almost all of them!! Grouper fingers were tasty!! Second time there & worth going again!
Absolutely great food. Home cooking without breaking your bank account and you can have a nice little dessert to end your meal if you choose it as your side item. Who would not love that. We will definitely be coming back here again.
Was my first time being there! Loved it! Wonderful atmosphere, I had the grouper and fries with hush puppies and cole slaw. Was delicious! I'll be going back for seconds!♥️😁♥️
Very slow service in view of the fact there were not many customers. One waitress was quite rude. Maybe during a different time, things would be different.
Shrimp an oysters were wonderful. There was 15 family members ,all were pleased..Had a great time. Gagirl☺
Only okay. Very poor social distancing practices. No masks by staff, no tables left open between customers. Short staffed so service was very slow. Food was okay but there are better options around. We did enjoy the crab and shrimp dip but other than that the rest wasn't very good.
Wonderful service and food! Google says it closes at 3:30. Definitely not true, they are open until 9pm.
Great food, great service !! The shrimp and crab cakes were fresh and flavorful ! Loved the hush puppies and the southern green beans , will definitely be back 😊
Best shrimp and crab sandwich! Fresh, fresh, fresh. Not fancy but friendly. Reasonable price.
We were greeted by the owner Patricia. She was very pleasant. The servers were attentive! Courses were cleared immediately. We started with mozzarella sticks and fried green tomatoes. May I say they were delicious. The fried green tomatoes were very light and fried to perfection. I think I caught a hint of vinegar, all I know is was different but perfect. We also had the platter for 2, fried of course! It included grouper, shrimp, crab cakes, clams, oysters, sides brussel sprouts in tomato sauce that tasted like a creole sauce, and a side salad. It wasn't too greasy, well prepared! I highly recommend being seriously hungry! We couldn't eat it all. It was a pleasure dining there & they have social distance under control.
Great food, will do it again when the covid is over. They did not do the social distancing very well.
Service was wonderful! Food was great! Staff was very polite and personable!!
Food and service were top notch! Good prices.
Ate here with the family today while we checked out the Dickens on Centre Christmas Festival. Food was excellent and service was super friendly!
Excellent food dinner. Great place
Terrible atmosphere and service, great food. From reading the other reviews, we must have eaten there on an off day. When we went in the door, the cashier and hostess were upset over a couple that entered before us, sitting somewhere other than where the hostess directed. They were both rude and unfriendly, as if we where bothering them by showing up. The crab cakes and fried zucchini straws were awesome. After we received our meals, the hostess sat to eat her lunch at a table behind where my husband was seated. She kept getting up and down and banging her chair on my husbands chair. She only quietly said "sorry", once. When I took the ticket to the cashier she asked how everything was, while she was looking at something going on elsewhere. I'm not sure a "family" run restaurant is effective when some members seem to be working under duress. All of the staff, with the exception of one server seemed like they were angry.
Very tasty we both enjoyed the fried green tomatoe burger with bacon and cheese hot and fresh I love when you have to let your food cool off.
My husband and I can’t wait for this great restaurant to open! Always fresh seafood as salads. Wonderful family owned establishment.
We've been to Amelia island many times, but just had our first meal here. Our mistake, we should have come sooner. Simply put, it's terrific. The food is 2-3x better than surrounding places, but is less pricey, and the owner and staff are very attentive. Don't miss it.
Seriously, the best fried shrimp I've had in ages. so fresh. Mix of seafood and country cooking. Right next to the docks. Heaven.
This was a great find! After seeing a 30-40 minute wait at one of the "popular" places, we stumbled on this place. I'm glad we did! The fish and shrimp were some of the best I have had. The service was great and the prices very reasonable. We will definitely go back the next time we are in the area!
Good food. Very pricey. Place was hot... Way too hot, no air conditioning and air flow. Immediately sweating
Holy cow it delicious. If you get a family favorite brace yourself, it is huge!
The Marina is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always great, portions are nice and prices fair. You never leave hungry...
Always loved this place, but my last two visits have been bad. 3 of the 4 in my party ordered the steak and everyone's was tough and like shoe leather. I try not to give bad review's, but felt it was needed this time. It was not good, at all. I'm afraid I have taken my last trip there.
The Marina is a North Florida institution! Our family comes out to Amelia Island once or twice a year, and we always go to the Marina. The staff is amazing, they make you feel like you come in every day. The food is great and reasonable priced. It is perfectly situated to start or end a stroll through downtown. The best part though? They often have cake or pudding as a side item! Cake is a vegetable! Amazing!
Wonderful little place. Great options for the seafood lovers and land lovers! I'm about 8hrs from home, but the southern food makes me feel like I'm walking distance. Highly recommend the peach puff! Daily lunch specials I think M-F.
Such a wonderful place and to find out that my dad parents had owned the restaurant in the 1948. CL & Wanell Spivey. Food and staff is great.
Hard to believe this place got as many stars as it does. I'm not sure where to start but the entire experience was a lot less than expected. Greeted by a woman on the phone who couldn't be bothered long enough to greet us and seat us instead we got a quick point of the finger and a"you can sit over there" $20 for microwaved crab cakes, at least that's how they tasted. Ordered a salad with ham, cheese, and olives, couldn't see the olives, waitress assured us twice they were in there..... Guess what.. no olives. We aren't locals but visit family here enough to know we won't ever be going back here.
I believe this is the place to get seafood at its best. Wide variety of seafood and so delicious. Cooked to perfection. This is the best in Fernandina beach . Courteous and friendly wait staff. Delightful place to dine. Will definitely be back there again.
The Marina Restaurant is an authentic Amelia Island experience! Friendly atmosphere and affordable selections for the whole family. A wine list for the meal is also provided. A local favorite.
Service was Amazing!! Got to try the Fried Green Tomatoes best ever!!!!
Slow but good. Well worth the wait. Family owned an nice people
Really enjoyed this place, the prices were very reasonable for seafood, service was excellent, clean and loved the decor... Definitely recommended and in prime location.
Restaurant week. Way too much food and was terrific. Stuffed grouper and fried shrimp were wonderful.
Dined here a couple of months ago on a whim, but I’m still mad I wasted a meal on this place. Seems to be the regular clientele here is rather... elderly. With that in mind, it makes sense that our menu items were over-salted and generally lacking in flavor otherwise. Shame on us for not noticing upon arrival that we were the only patrons young enough to possess functioning taste buds. We left in a hurry and won’t be back. This is a tourist trap, and it should be very evident when you see the decor (it looks like a 1980’s beach motel threw up inside of this place). Anyway, avoid.
